Scheduled headliners are Orange County punk rockers Broken Society and Oakland-based hip-hop artists AR-15 (Anti-Racist Fifteen). Other performers include Malice of Forethought, The Cabookies, Sars and the Kickmes, No Reform, The Rejekted.
Special performances will also be delivered by Ben Stewart of the Riverside-based band Conspiracy of Thought and by the Los Angeles-based hip-hop group Rebels to the Grain (www.myspace.com/rebelstothegrain).
This is the show that Colton PD did NOT want to happen. Colton PD told us that if we held this event in the Cesar Chavez Park, as we had planned at first (and we had already received approval from the City of Colton), they would shut it down for any reason without giving us any reason other than they believed it was best to shut it down. Colton PD told us that they "didn't need this sort of thing" in their town and that they "wouldn't lose any sleep if the whole thing never happened."
This event will be a concert and resource forum to address civil rights issues that affect us all. This event will covered by three major Inland Empire newspapers.
So, please tell as many people about this event as possible to display a great show of progessive-minded unity.
Also presenting resources and speakers on JUne 4 will be the Jeffery Owens Community Center (www.jocc.org) and All of Us or None (www.allofusornone.org).
